Christmas

My Christmas was good.  When we decorated the tree Essowe, Anne, Grace, and Sitsope came over.  Essowe is Anne and Grace's mother and Sitsope is our babysitter.  We had a fun time decorating the tree.  It was funny when Grace put the angel on the top of the tree because my daddy had to pick her up to hold her high, but the angel kept falling over.

On Christmas Eve, instead of Christmas dinner we had Christmas lunch with the Reeves and we got to go swimming- on Christmas Eve!  After we went to Hannah's we came home and got ready to go Christmas carolling.  We only went carolling to a couple of places we knew where Americans live.  My favorite place was the last house we went to where they gave us lots of candy.  And they gave everyone one candy cane but they gave us all of the candy canes.

On Christmas day we opened all of our presents, and we were so anxious that we almost did it before Matt and Grace (Hangen, our new teammates who are staying with us until their house is ready) woke up.  Santa gave us lots of art stuff like paintbrushes, smocks, paint containers, paintable frames, and Cat in the Hat journals.  My favorite present that I got was a trampoline.  Mom made hints that started with the Wonder box and then led us outside.  I was only three feet away when I noticed the trampoline!

I also got some cozy blankets, a Polly Pocket set, a reindeer Webkins which I named Dasher, a really pretty fairy book that I wanted from my Grandma and Grandpa. I also got a pink sparkly shirt, and some bulletin/ dry erase boards to hang in my room.

It was a great Christmas but I missed my family.  I got to talk to them on Skype and Uncle Jim was here so that made me feel better!

Hey Maddie, I loved reading about your Christmas! I'm so glad you wrote about it! Wow, a trampoline! Can adults jump too, or is it just for kids? :) That is crazy that you went swimming on Christmas Eve! Believe it or not, it wasn't very cold in Memphis either! We didn't even need a coat outside on Christmas Day! Keep writing about what you're doing... I love hearing about it! :) Love you so much, Claire
